Extension of cinema cards, what new validity dates?

Prolongation des cartes cinéma, quelles nouvelles dates de validité? Some cinephiles bought cinema cards which they could not use because of the closure of cinemas. What extension measures have operators put in place?

Many of you have asked us questions about the validity dates of your tickets purchased before the cinemas closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Note that French operators have set up validity extensions for all of their prepaid cards, whether they are tickets purchased via a works council or seats purchased directly from the operator in question. Below, we offer you the details of these measures with the dates of new validity for each major operator in France. We invite you to contact your cinema if it is not in the list below.


  • Prepaid cards expiring between 30 March and the 31 may 2020 are automatically extended until 15 September 2021
      Prepaid cards expiring after June 1st are automatically extended by 4 months


  • Places expiring between 48 March and the 10 June 2020 are extended until to 15 September 2020
      Places expiring and between 48 July and 30 September are extended until 31 december 2020
    • Places expiring between 31 October and the 31 December 2020 are extended until 31 March 2021


  • MK2 checkcines expiring between 15 March and the 15 August 2020 are extended automatically until 15 December 2020
      Checkcines MK2 expiring between September 1st and 48 December 2020 are automatically extended until 31 March 2021

    CGR, Kinépolis, Cinéville and Megarama


CE cards and 5/13/15 are extended until 31 december 2020

  • Megarama: CE checks and Megacards whose validity is after 14 March 2020 have their validity date extended by 100 days.
    • Kinepolis: KinéTickets, CE cards and Kinécards are automatically extended until 31 october 2020. Cinéville:

    All passes and cards whose validity is greater than 15 March 2020 are automatically extended by 6 months
